LOCAL KNOWLEDGE – The Argosy returns to Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club for the first time in a number of years. Race to weather Saturday – start at the Newport Pier at noon, race through Angel’s Gate and the CBYC Committee Boat will finish you. Slips will be provided by CBYC. Trophies for Saturday’s race will be awarded at a “cook your own” $12.00 dinner at the club. Alternately, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance at the newly renovated Ports o’ Call. A continental breakfast on Sunday will be available at the club for $5.00.
Sunday, starting at 1100, all boats will exit through Angel’s Gate, the PHRF spinnaker classes will leave drilling platform “Eva” to port and “Emmy” to starboard, the non-spinnaker class will leave “Eva” to port. ORCA will leave double drilling platform “Ellen-Elly” to port. The finish boat will be west of the Balboa Pier. Sunday’s and overall trophies will be awarded at BCYC after the race.
