GOLD FOR SPAIN

OLYMPIC UPDATE – Marina Alabau Neira took gold in the women’s RS:X event after another fine day on the Nothe Course.

The Spaniard has been a dominant force in the event and rounded off her regatta in typical style, winning the medal race to seal her overall victory.

Ukraine’s Olha Maslivets came in second, 27 seconds further back from the leader, but that was not enough to lift her into medal contention.

Tuuli Petaja of Finland claimed silver with a strong finish to the medal race, while Poland’s Zofia Noceti-Klepacka finished third on the day to claim bronze overall.
