AMERICAS CUP – Westerly winds up to 20 knots blow the hair back, a heavy fog bank dampens the skin, cool air and water temps demand layers of clothing… welcome to San Francisco Bay.
ACWS San Francisco, the first event of the 2012-13 racing season, begins in one week and today six of the 11 entered crews took to the water for a round of training. The conditions weren’t heavy at the beginning, but later devolved as described. It’s a big part of the reason that San Francisco was selected to host the 2013 America’s Cup.
Some might say it’s gonna be huge, and these pics are just a primer of what’s to come. (All photos ©ACEA 2012/Gilles Martin-Raget) MORE PHOTOS
